jump man

  

i love living back in dc, its a totally different city from the one i left 10 years ago.  living in new york city can make anyone pretty jaded about their hometown, i was no exception.  but exploring the new dc has been so much fun!  learning about all the hot spot restaurants, chill hang outs and kute little boutiques has been an adventure.  maybe that's what got me jumping?... no?  lol!  i've got bunnies baby!!  I don't know why, but i felt so inclined to jump!  jump for joy!  jump because i had "jordan's" help!  idk, but it was one fun tiring experience.

on this particular night, i planned on wearing an elaborate outfit with a skirt, pumps, the whole nine.  i scratched that real quick, i'm much more comfortable when i'm comfortable, lol!!  sneaks are my go-to for comfy.  anyone who knows me, knows that i am obsessed with sneakers, i may not have a large collection, but i'm proud of my classics.  my cement jordan retro 3's don't fall short, they are my favorites.  i decided to pair them with a simple tee and [drum roll] leather pants!!!  i can never get enough of the leather, most times i have to tell myself "put the leather down. you wore it three times this week and it's only monday. -_-"  no outfit is complete without the pièce de résistance, this time around it was my vintage MCM suzy wong bag, of course i added a little #blind@29 with the leather tassels.

date night

date nights are great for the obvious reasons, spending quality time with a person that you enjoy, exploring your surroundings, having a great meal, watching an amazing movie or just connecting with your beau.  but us girls [namely me :)] love date nights because they are the perfect excuse to wear all of those cute outfits you've been waiting to wear since... forever.  i could not wait to get spiffy for this date! 

i really adore color, but it seems as though all of my outfits are either grey or black. #fail lol!  this case is no different, my color of choice was black [you can never go wrong with an all black outfit].  this leather trend?  i can't get enough of it, leather pants, leather skirts, leather tops, leather leather leather!!! clearly, i'm obsessed. before our night on the town, we managed to squeeze in a mini photo shoot to capture all of that leather goodness. 

oh! how could i forget to mention... the accoutrement of all accoutrements, the pièce de résistance [i say this for each of my new accessories lol!] i found the most adorable indian inspired purse and with a little dose of #blind@29, i added studded leather tassels, to it make it the most awesomest piece ever!

this alice + olivia box pleated leather skirt is probably my most favorite item in my closet. i love it! i wear it all the time, i dress it up, dress it down, i wear it all around town. hahaa!! call me miss. seuss [i crack my self up :)]  but yea, its the perfect fall/winter item.

i sported this outfit to the opening night of fela! it was uncannily warm for a january day [i've been saying that a lot lately], so i paired it with a sheer floral blouse, my dilapidated stockings and leather studded boots. oh! and my accessories, i adore accessories, they always finish a look [in my opinion], more deets on those after the pics. s/o to my photographer :-*

the wind was blowing like krazy, i kinda got carried away with the dramatics of it all... i tend to be dramatic!!!!!!  <---see?!

ethereal shades of grey

"even when the skies were gray, you would rub me on my back and say "baby it'll be okay", method man said it best in mary j. blidge's you're all i need. life is full of ups and downs. things may seem bleak, but there is always a silver lining, knowing that keeps me motivated to be better than i was yesterday. what a lovely cliché. LOL! seriously, we all need encouragement... stay encouraged!

it's starting to feel more like winter, with flurries of snow here and there, but the sun never fails me. these past few weekends have been beautiful!! i recently took a photography class at living social with douglas sonders [which was amazing!] and i felt this weather was a perfect setting to put my new camera and photography skills to work. obviously I didn't take the pictures of myself, but i set my settings, took a few test shots of my photographer and passed on the camera, the rest was magic. our shots came out great! a simple after brunch test shoot in the national harbor turned into a full-on glam session.

when i left home earlier in the day it felt a little warm [to me at least :)] hence, the sheer split maxi. never the less, i felt kute, so nothing much else mattered. ha! it was something very ethereal about this look... whimsical skirt, different shades of grey, curls flowing in the wind... it all came together, funny how that happens when you least expect it.
